Communication Skills for Business
Examen de communication professionnelle
The Professional Communication Skills for Business (CSB) exam confirms that candidates entering the workforce understand the key communication principles and skills needed to be effective in a work environment. While the key skill measured is communication, the nature of this exam will also help students with the other 3 of the “4 Cs”:
- Critical thinking – what will happen when they think about how to communicate effectively
- Collaboration – which comes from communicating effectively with others
- Creativity – which is necessary to present attractive communications
The CSB Professional Communication exam is a boxed exam with innovative selected answer options. Core concepts include professional communication skills; effective verbal, non-verbal and listening skills; creating business deliverables; effectively conveying a message; receiving communications; and analyzing communication scenarios. Where a question relates to visual communications, there are corresponding visuals to illustrate. Ditto for written communications.
This is a 50-minute exam with approximately 35 to 50 questions. A person preparing to take this exam should have around 150 hours of teaching and practical experience in the theory and practice of formal communication.
The expected level of competence for the exam can be achieved through learning and practice tests. The level of knowledge required to pass the exam is described in the exam objectives. The exam objectives form the basis of all learning materials, practice tests and certification exams.
